Six things to know about Montreal Workshops:
We’re a home for everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Montreal Workshops is full of classes, big and small, that are brought to life through the direct support of people like you.
2. Each workshop/class is independently created.
The filmmakers, musicians, artists, and designers you see on Montreal Workshops have complete control over and responsibility for their projects. Montreal Workshops is a platform and a resource; we’re not involved in the development of the classes themselves. Anyone can launch a workshop on Montreal Workshops as long as it meets our guidelines.
3. Together, teachers and students make projects happen.
Teachers create their workshop, and set a location. If people like a class, they can sign up and attend! Simple as pie. Find your workshop online, buy your ticket online. Teachers check you in online when the class takes place.
4. Attending a workshop helps you and many others learn – and supports teachers.
It’s supporting the dream of a teacher to create something that they want to see exist in the world. It allows them to start their own business, one step at a time. People rally around their friends’ workshops, those hungry for knowledge can find endless opportunities, and others simply come to Montreal Workshops to be inspired by new ideas.
5. We help teachers make their dream come true.
By partnering up with location providers, and providing a stable, safe, and easy-to-use platforms, we help those striving to teach find an audience. We can take a hands-off approach, or help teachers find a location, set up their workshop, and help them get started.
6. Our mission is to help teachers find their calling, and satisfy those hungry for knowledge.
We’re a for-profit company based in Montreal. We spend our time making Montreal Workshops a little bit better every day, answering questions from teachers and students, and finding new projects to share. If a workshop is successful (meaning the minimum number of places were bought), we apply a fee to the funds collected.
We believe that workshops make for a better world, and we’re thrilled to help support new ones. Building a community of teachers and students around an idea is an amazing way to change the world.
